A word from the Chair
The students of Australian Pharmacy Schools are the future of the Pharmacy profession and the NAPSA Education committee is dedicated to ensuring that the education of these students produces graduates of a very high standard.
The Education committee mission for 2005-2006 is "To bring real benefits to Australian Pharmacy students with regards to their education".
Currently Pharmacy education is undergoing many changes; with the emergence of post-graduate Master degrees, universities with trimesters and changes to pre-registration program(s) offered in Victoria.
The Education committee is committed to fulfilling our mission statement and achieving numerous pre-set objectives which address the many issues facing current Pharmacy Students.
Some of our objectives for this year include surveying students to review both the Undergraduate and Masters Pharmacy Courses. Our aim is to build on the strengths of these courses and provide extra supplementary courses where necessary. We are currently in the process of organising a complementary medicine and wound care workshop and a management certificate for final year members. We hope to have these up and running in the near future.
To ensure that each university is represented, the Education committee consists of at least one NAPSA member from each jurisdiction who is available as the first point of contact for fellow Pharmacy students at that Pharmacy school.
